Technical Manager - Peer Review
Summary:
The AICPA’s Peer Review Program is dedicated to enhancing the quality of accounting, auditing and attestation engagements performed by public accounting member firms. This objective is served through the development, communication and implementation of AICPA Peer Review standards as well as guidance and training materials.

Senior Technical Manager
Essential Responsibilities:
- Acquire and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of the AICPA Peer Review Program as well as the related administrative processes.
- Develop technical standards, guidance, practice aids and other materials for public accounting firms, peer reviewers, state CPA Society peer review committees and other users.
- Provide guidance and assistance to state CPA Society peer review committees, peer reviewers and public accounting firms on peer review issues, including those related to quality control and other standards.
- Work closely with peer reviewers and public accounting firms in identifying and resolving questions and issues, including firm non-cooperation and reviewer performance matters.
- Perform peer review working paper technical reviews and oversights.
- Serve as a staff liaison to the AICPA Peer Review Board, its advisory task forces and committees; these groups are responsible for assisting in research, project assistance and the development of peer review materials.Keep apprised of new standards and services being developed by other AICPA teams and outside the AICPA as a way to determine the impact of these standards/services on the AICPA Peer Review Program; this includes but is not limited to the activities of the AICPA Professional Ethics Division, ARSC, ASB, DOL, GAO, IAASB , IASB, PCAOB and SEC.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Reporting Structure:
Peer Review Technical Managers report directly to Peer Review Senior Technical Managers; there are no supervisory or directorial responsibilities for a Peer Review Technical Manager.

Strong working knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and quality control standards

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- CPA designation
- Minimum 5 years current public accounting experience
- Preferred experience with Governmental and/or ERISA engagements
