SUMMARY
Manage the development and
production for a portfolio of continuing education print and electronic courses,
while ensuring quality of products that are completed on schedule and within
budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage work plans for course development; monitor throughout full lifecycle to ensure successful completion and quality of product.
- Identify and/or recruit stakeholders, including authors, content creators, subject matter experts, vendors, conference presenters and finance staff for each course/work plan.
- Manage and facilitate effective communication throughout the course of the project/product development on schedule workflow, risks, issue and resolution reporting, budget, delivery and customer satisfaction. Manage and resolve concerns as they arise.
- Manage product development plans to ensure adherence to schedule and budget; identify and assess risks to schedule, quality or budget, identify solutions and take action to resolve.
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams to implement process improvements and or best practices in order to optimize quality, efficiencies and to maintain AICPA’s publishing model as current and competitive.
- Oversee relationships with vendors, including negotiating on scheduling and pricing as well as ensuring the utilization of high quality publishing techniques and end products.
- Perform quality assurance checks of products, including testing functionality and usability of online or web-based products, editing, proofreading, writing, content optimization, color-checks and pre/post press reviews; take appropriate action to resolve quality issues, defects and/or errors.
- Anticipate project needs, assess vendor needs and review cost/schedule estimates along with quality initiatives and make appropriate selections.
- Review, approve and submit invoices for payment; analyze and assess costs to determine impact and cost savings opportunities.
- Monitor and manage product inventory to ensure on time receipt and costs; monitor and maintain warehouse stocks, postal/shipping accounts and related postal regulations.
- Provide product/project/technology knowledge to other AICPA teams; investigate issues and inform internal stakeholders on options for leveraging consistency and best practices across the Institute.
- Stay abreast of developments in publishing and related industries; identify, promote and recommend continuous process improvements for course/product development from content creation to final delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
REQUIRED
· Ability to multi-task, and
manage multiple project deliverables

composition and print technologies
· Excellent writing and
communication skills
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
· Working knowledge of Adobe
InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
· Working knowledge of XML
· Detailed-oriented
EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
· 2-3 years’ related experience,
including publishing, project management and/or product development
EDUCATION REQUIRED
· Bachelor's degree in related
field
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
PREFERRED
· PMP preferred
