Accountant (TEST Screening Stage Reject)
SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reconcile and analyze various trial balance accounts including, but not limited to, cash accounts, prepaid expenses, other assets, intercompany accounts and miscellaneous accruals.

Prepare bank reconciliations.

Prepare journal entries and related support.

Resolve accounting discrepancies as appropriate.

Perform additional month-end closing procedures.

Assist internal and external auditors with audits.
-
Actively participate in cross-functional team meetings as necessary.

Identify and recommend opportunities to improve workflows, efficiencies and streamline processes.

Process royalty payments, including gathering data, researching and calculating payments to authors.
- Perform asset management operations.

Ensure addition and maintenance of assets including, but not limited to retirements, reassignments, and cost adjustments.

Identify proper ASC 350-40 invoice coding and maintain support.
- Perform testing of support systems.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Familiarity with the processes or application of concepts regarding the tools, roles and proceduresneeded to establish, forecast and manage budgets

Working experience in performing tasks and identifying efficiencies related to the financial and accounting system applications specific to AICPA
-
Familiarity with the processes and concepts related to financial forecasting and modeling as well asknowledge of the tools and techniques involved in exploration and evaluation of financial scenarios,results and alternatives used to assist the organization in decision making

Working experience with performing tasks and identifying efficiencies involved in creation, implementation, evaluation and enhancement of internal control processes as related to organizational finances

Working experience with performing tasks and identifying efficiencies with methods and tools for maintaining accurate and thorough records of financial transactions as well as the application of generally accepted accounting principles

Working experience with performing tasks and identifying efficiencies with business process improvementtools and techniques and is able to understand, monitor, update, or enhance existing business or work processes

Familiarity with planning, organizing, monitoring, and controlling projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources, creating and managing project plans to achieve project objectives

Working experience of financial and accounting systems

Experience in financial record keeping and applying the generally accepted accounting principles

Familiar with financial modeling knowledge, processes, tools and techniques

Ability to perform tasks related to budget management & forecasting

Ability to organize and monitor projects

Working experience with business process improvement tools and techniques
-
Basic understanding of financial operations
-
Demonstration of strong interpersonal and communication skills, accuracy, initiative, attention to detail, and analytical problem solving

Ability to handle multiple priorities

Ability to solve problems and develop creative recommendations

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with strong Excel and Word skills

2-4 years related accounting experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting

Previous experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle
